Zambia 1999

"11, 381"

What an "awesome" time we had in Africa!  God moved in ways I never expected and did a work, not just in the people of Zambia, but also in those of us from America who were privileged to be a part of this campaign.  We saw 11, 381 professions of faith on this trip.  All glory goes to God - period.  These results were not because of the excellent witnessing skills or superior spiritual awareness of the team members, but because the Spirit went before us and prepared the hearts of men, women and children to receive the Gospel.  This is not to say that the crusade participants are not important, by any means.  Were it not for these, who went, Lusaka would not have experienced the spiritual awakening that it did.  In this day and time, we see God move through those who have made themselves available as vessels, set aside, to be used in His service.  This was certainly the case in Zambia.

Dennis Rumbo, International Crusade's coordinator for the continent of Africa, began several months ago preparing for this mission trip.  He spent many weeks in Africa beforehand, planting seeds that we would reap in harvest the first two weeks of October.  Along with Steven Loots, IC's national coordinator for Southern Africa, Dennis worked with local pastors in Lusaka to lay the groundwork for the crusade.  I compliment the International Crusades staff for all the hard work that went in before the crusade to make everything work like a finely tuned machine.

Words really cannot describe what I experienced while there.  In the next few weeks, I hope to have gathered testimonies from other participants to post on this page.
